At the CineStory Retreat, relationships are established over a three-day one-on-one meeting schedule, informal hook-ups, movie clip discussions, meals and social gatherings. Every writer meets with three Retreat mentors each to discuss their script submissions and possible personal pathways to a professional life in the business.

Now preparing for its fourth year, the CineStory Retreat has become a celebrated staple of outreach and reward for new talent. The industry executives who are hand-picked to serve as Retreat mentors regularly ask for return, thoroughly enjoying the chance to share knowledge and creative energy with a small group of potent writers.

Here relationships are established over a three-day meeting schedule: informal hook-ups, movie clip discussions, meals and social gatherings. Every writer meets with three Retreat mentors each to discuss their script submissions and possible personal pathways to a professional life in the business.

A close-knit family of writers has formed from the last three Retreats -- and they have established a network of caring mentors that provide support in the Hollywood maze, and for many writers, management representation and private on-going mentorships.

The CineStory Retreat evolved from the success of CineStory's national screenwriting conference, Script Sessions, which for four years brought film executives, professional writers and literary reps from New York and Los Angeles to Chicago to meet with hundreds of new writers in a variety of panels and workshops. Finding that more and more writers were requesting even more personal attention for their writing, CineStory left the panel-driven Script Sessions behind and embarked on an intimate think-tank known as The CineStory Retreat.
